LocalTR: Mac focus and Turkish guidance

For local names, HTTPS and an inspector in one Mac app, with Turkish guides and email support.

1 developer · 2 Macs · 1 concurrent public URL per Mac. A verified installer is being prepared; explore the sample demo today.

LocalCan: multiple URLs and broader platform needs

Review its plans if you need Windows/Linux, multiple public URLs, custom domains, static snapshots or a documented MCP workflow.

Linux uses a CLI. Features depend on plans and terms; local HTTPS and an inspector are present in both products.

LocalTR’s local tools remain free.

Local domains and HTTPS tools are documented; both products cover these needs.

Local domains and HTTPS
Inspection, replay and export

Free request/response inspection and detail-panel Replay. cURL copying exists in development builds; check its target and contents. Export compatibility, including cURL, Postman and other formats, has not yet been verified in a released Mac package.

Replay and export limits

Request/response inspection, replay and Markdown, cURL, HAR, HTTP and JSON exports are documented.

Traffic inspection and export
Concurrent public URLs

Approved offer: 1 URL per Mac, on a *.localtr.dev subdomain. The Mac, app and service stay online.

Public URL conditions

Free: 1 URL, 60-minute sessions, 1 GB/calendar month. Solo: 5, Pro: 10 live URLs.

Public URL limits
Public protocols and traffic

Public HTTP sharing. WebSocket/SSE and general TCP/UDP are not supported. Traffic limits will be explained before sales open; unlimited traffic is not offered.

Read protocol limits

Public HTTP and TCP are documented. Paid traffic is subject to fair use; no fixed quota does not guarantee unlimited service.

License and service terms
Your own domain

A chosen *.localtr.dev subdomain; bring-your-own domains are outside the current scope.

LocalTR sharing scope

Custom domains are documented for paid HTTP Public URLs. Solo has 2, Pro 4 domains; this is not a TCP custom-domain entitlement.

Custom domains
Content while the Mac is offline

No offline snapshots or permanent hosting. The live tunnel cannot serve the local project when the Mac is off.

Live tunnel prerequisites

A static snapshot can serve content at the same URL while the Mac is offline; it does not run the backend or update itself. Official sources differ on Free entitlement.

Static snapshot scope
Capture storage and redaction

Captures are stored on the Mac; selected headers and JSON/form fields are redacted. Not every query parameter or free-text secret is removed automatically.

Data and storage limits

Docs describe the latest 250 exchanges in memory, cleared on daemon restart. Optional export redaction is available; this does not establish equal data protection.

Traffic inspection and export
CLI / MCP

A supported user-facing CLI/MCP management workflow is not yet verified; do not rely on it for automation.

LocalTR feature scope

MCP documents URL management, traffic reading and export. Write access is off by default; plan and service conditions apply.

LocalCan annual amounts are monthly equivalents × 12, not verified checkout or invoice totals. The ISO currency behind the source’s $ symbol is not separately confirmed. Tax may apply. LocalTR regional eligibility, tax and totals must be explained before sales open; no exchange-rate or savings comparison is made.

Evaluate with one project.

Inspect the request path and response in the sample screen. The browser demo is not a native installation or a real tunnel test.

  1. Explore local naming and HTTPS in the sample workflow.
  2. Match a sample request to its response and define your test’s expected outcome.
  3. Check your public URL, device and protocol needs against the scope above.

Installation testing on your Mac can follow when the package is ready. No automatic settings or license transfer is offered.

Permissions, public traffic and captures.

What approvals does local HTTPS need?

LocalTR’s local-address helper and CA trust setup may need administrator approval. Creating a certificate does not establish browser trust; trust on the Mac does not automatically extend to other devices. Review approvals and trust removal in the installation guide.

Helper and CA setup steps
Where does public sharing traffic go?

LocalTR HTTP requests and responses pass through the relay to the service on your Mac and can include headers and bodies. This is not source-code uploading. No guarantee is made of end-to-end encryption unreadable by the relay. A local .local name alone does not open internet access.

Read about relay and data flow
Should captures and access controls be evaluated alike?

LocalTR keeps capture copies on the Mac; selected-field redaction does not remove every secret. Native Replay sends a real request. LocalTR checks the password in the Mac app; LocalCan documentation describes server-side access controls. Do not assume equal scope or protection.
